Easiest way is to partition the backup drive, using a tool like the Mac OS X-native app Disk Utility (you’ll find it in under Applications/Utilities on your hard drive). When you format the partition that you’ll be using for Time Machine, make sure you select “Mac OS Extended” under the “Format” option. For the Windows partition, select “MS-DOS (FAT).” Hope that helps!
