We came across a cool web site that you simply could possibly get pleasure from. Take a appear in case you want.

On the one hand, the FB Help section says that if you choose Custom when about to post a status update, then select who the update is visible to, that they WON’T see other names in the list. Then, it goes on to say they will if you use, um, custom lists. I don’t know why they want all your friends to be able to see who else can see the update, and I like to select certain people to see certain updates.

What’s the point of having friend lists when people can tell they are on one and can figure out what it is based on who else is on that list.

The smart list is, as you mention, the only way to keep names private. But to add anyone to a smart list means allowing Facebook to NOTIFY them that you did.
I hate how it’s now possible to see who you share with, and how it’s getting harder and harder to share stuff without some sort of notification automatically popping up.

So so stupid. Facebook pretends it’s giving us more control, but I feel more powerless than ever.

I tried the ‘Try This’ tips you mentioned using my own personal account and a dummy account, and I still end up seeing names popping up.  The same thing happens, whether I use lists or specify each name individually. What am I doing wrong?

It would be nice to have the option to keep the members of a friend list private, right?
