The Kindle and computer must be connected with a usb cord to the computer from the Kindle. Kindle is located as a separate device in the computer section of the Windows Explorer Panel on the left of the screen or panel. Drop the document into the kindle document folder, or the music folder, or the video folder, on the kindle (I have Fire but it works with the original Kindle for documents). An inconvinient aspect is that the kindle does not show folders when selecting the music or looking at the document. Organizing takes some ingenuity such as labeling all NY TIMES opinions NY Times_Opinions__. This way all the NY Times articles are together in alphabetical order when you are seaching from the single list you have.
