In the professional world you have to conduct yourself professionally. That includes what you post online. Some things could reflect badly on the company. That’s just the way it is.

I also self-censor my comments on other peoples’ posts the same way. Once you post it, you may delete it later, but some people will remember it anyway,you cannot UN-SAY it. And I have read elsewhere that, yes,when you apply for a job, potential employers DO have ways of finding out what you post on social sites,so I am careful to not post anything I’d be ashamed of or embarrassed about. If I have something to say to someone that might upset or offend other people or get spread where I don’t want it, I shoot them an email or snail mail, NEVER a post on a social site.
