I believe defragmenting a solid state drive does not improve performance, as with mechanical hard drives, but instead will actually shorten the solid state drives lifespan.

They probably want to take that into consideration before making changes. Not saying don’t do it, but maybe you don’t need to if it’s already being done as part of the PC tuneup process.
