However, when they removed the option to use the Old Version or HTML version, that was not cool. Gmail is still my favorite mail program, but then need to go back to focusing on other things and not trying to beautify Gmail.

 Could use a stand-alone chat client.  Could also open the new gmail in one tab and the HTML interface in the other.

I don’t understand why they can’t offer both.  It sounds like a false dichotomy to me.

(whatever that individual is comfortable using)    With today’s technology and sufficient subscribers to GMail… why can’t GMAIL offer the same principle?  “Gmail is committed to new, modern-looking gmail makeover”…. too bad they are not commited to their subscribers…
