This week: We look back at the so-called “improvements” (like the Facebook “ticker” and the missing scroll bars in Mac OS X “Lion”) that here’s the thing readers absolutely, positively hated, and we look forward to the most interesting gadgets (such as the next iPad, the “shoot first, focus later” Lytro camera, and the Nintendo Wii U) that are slated for 2012.

But first, shopping expert Caroline Weller is on hand with a few more tips for last-minute holiday shoppers, from sending e-gift cards and certificates to gifting MP3s.
