Don’t have a so-called “Smart” TV yet? The streaming-video experts at Roku may have the answer: a Wi-Fi-enabled, thumbdrive-sized “stick” that plugs into your TV’s HDMI video input and delivers more than 400 channels of streaming-media goodness, from Netflix and Amazon to Hulu and Pandora. But yes, there’s a catch: the Streaming Stick (available later this fall) requires an HDTV with a powered, MHL-enabled (that’s short for “mobile high-definition link) HDMI connector, and for now, only a handful of Samsung and Toshiba HDTVs have ’em.
