Lost track of how many third-party apps and websites have access to your Facebook account? Well, trust me—you’re not the only one.

If you’ve had enough of apps and sites like Farmville, Draw Something, Bing and Yahoo! poking around your private Facebook data, good news: you can slam the door on all of them at once.

Here’s how:

• Log into your Facebook account, click the little downward arrow in the top-right corner of the page, then select Privacy Settings.
• Scroll down to the “Ads, Apps and Websites” section and click the “Edit Settings” link.
• On the next page, click the “Turn off all apps” link under the “Apps you use” heading.
• So, are you really ready to zap all your Facebook apps? If so, click the blue “Turn off Platform” button.

That’s it! Now your Facebook account is completely app-free.

Having second thoughts? You can always go back and re-add specific apps and websites to your Facebook account; keep in mind, though, that any information or scores (in the case of Facebook games) stored by previously deleted apps may be gone for good.

Want to pick and choose which Facebook apps to delete? Go back to the “Apps you use” section and click the “Edit Settings” button to see a list of all your apps and Facebook-connected web sites, then click the “x” next to any app or site you’d like to delete.
