Ever feel like your music playlist needs a shuffle, or that your current shuffle needs a do-over? Sure you have—but maybe you don’t feel like swiping to the music app and tapping the tiny “Shuffle” button.
Is the “shake-to-shuffle” feature not working? If so, tap Settings, Music, then make sure the “Shake to Shuffle” option is switched on.
Well, there’s an easier way to shuffle (or re-shuffle) your tunes, so long as you have a key setting enabled.
Update: Unfortunately, the “shake-to-shuffle” appears to have been jettisoned with the arrival of the revamped Apple Music app.
All you need to do is shake your iPhone—and when you do, the album, artist, playlist, or genre you’re listening to will go into “Shuffle All” mode.
If you were already listening to a shuffle, shaking your iPhone will re-shuffle your tunes.
